1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, improve your experience, and analyze how you use the site.

2. How We Use Cookies

2.3 Analytics Cookies (Currently Not Used)

Tractic does not currently use third-party analytics services like Google Analytics. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this Cookie Policy and request your consent where required by law.

2.4 Third-Party Cookies

When you use features that integrate with third-party services, those services may set their own cookies:

We do not control third-party cookies. Please review each service's privacy policy for details.

3. Local Storage and Session Storage

In addition to cookies, Tractic uses browser storage mechanisms:

3.1 Local Storage

Local storage persists data even after you close your browser. We use it for:

  • Theme preference: Dark, light, or charcoal mode
  • Sidebar state: Collapsed or expanded
  • UI preferences: Column widths, filter settings (session-specific)

3.2 Session Storage

Session storage is cleared when you close your browser tab. We use it for:

  • Form state: Temporarily saving form data to prevent loss on page refresh
  • Navigation state: Remembering scroll position or active tab

Important: We NEVER store sensitive data (passwords, bank account numbers, credit card details) in localStorage or sessionStorage. All sensitive data is encrypted and stored securely in our database.

4. Managing Cookies

4.1 Browser Settings

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through settings. You can:

  • Block all cookies
  • Block third-party cookies only
  • Delete cookies after each session
  • Receive a notification when a cookie is set

To manage cookies in your browser:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Cookies and website data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Warning: Blocking or deleting essential cookies will prevent you from logging in and using Tractic. You will need to re-enable cookies to access the Service.

4.2 Do Not Track (DNT)

Tractic respects Do Not Track (DNT) browser settings. If your browser sends a DNT signal, we will not enable analytics cookies (when/if we add them in the future). Essential cookies will still function to provide the Service.

4.3 Opt-Out of Third-Party Cookies

To opt out of third-party cookies:

  • Google: Google Ad Settings
  • Plaid: Disconnect your bank account in Settings → Bank Connections
  • Stripe: Cookies are only set during checkout; no persistent tracking

5. Updates to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology or legal requirements. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice in the Service or by email.
